Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for March 30th

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for March 30th

Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...

Hot Take: Don't expect Hollywood to "get it" for any number of reasons. Consider this... According to the faith-based advocacy group Faith Based Consumer, 17% of Americans make buying decisions based primarily on faith. Whether you fall into that 17% or not it likely makes sense to you. If it does, that's more understanding than Hollywood has. How often do Christian based movies "outperform" or "surprise" or shock the folks in Hollywood?

Heck it happened just a couple of weeks ago again with I Can Only Imagine. Like most faith-based movies it was a low budget production but with out-sized performance. The production cost was $7 million. It grossed over $17 million in its first weekend. From the Passion of the Christ over a decade ago, to the flood gates being opened after God's Not Dead four years ago, religious themed movies have been smash hits that have essentially been ignored by Hollywood and the media. It doesn't matter that it's the most consistently profitable movie genre either. There are many of us, and I say us because Ashley and I fall in this category, that will only go to the box office for one of these types of movies, but do they care?

Now, Roseanne is a very different version of a similar concept. It's a far cry from a religious themed movie or show. The point is similar however... How many people voted for Donald Trump? How much "entertainment" caters to that audience? How much of it caters to the 48% that voted for Clinton? Why would they wake up now? Bigotry is alive and well. Just look no further than the entertainment industry.

Hot Take: Isn't it nice that your kids are being looked at as political tools. Most of the time it's what your kids aren't being taught in the classroom that you should be most concerned about. These days it might be a political party that eyes them like dog that's attempting to mark its territory. These are desperate and sick people. Any surprise that this is a piece perpetuated by CNN btw?

Until Monday...
