Hysterical Headlines for July 3rd – Your mouth is a loaded weapon

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for July 3rd  Your mouth is a loaded weapon

Bottom Line: Your daily doses of nonsense in the media and my takes on them...

Excerpt: The 2018 Atlantic hurricane season is increasingly expected to be less active than average, according to an updated seasonal outlook released by Colorado State University.

Including May's Subtropical Storm Alberto, 11 named storms, four hurricanes and only one major hurricane of Category 3 or higher intensity are expected this season in CSU's latest outlook released Monday.

This is a significant reduction from its May 31 outlook, which had called for 14 total named storms, six hurricanes and two major hurricanes, and nearly matches the outlook released in late June by The Weather Company, an IBM Business.

There are several reasons these outlooks are calling for lower numbers in 2018:

1. Atlantic Ocean Temperature Patterns

A pattern of cooler-than-average water temperatures has persisted and expanded in the eastern Atlantic and in the central northern Atlantic.

Hot Take: As I mentioned yesterday the season has already been 67% less active than last year and we'll all take the revised forecast but isn't it a little absurd that we're barely into hurricane season and the forecasts are already coming down? What does that say about their ability to forecast the season in the first place? Not to mention the oddity of still getting this particular forecast from the Rocky Mountains. That's also been at bit odd to me too.

Hot Take: And there you have it. Freedom of speech and expression is a weapon. Who's for less of it? Oh right, the New York Times. Isn't that ironic? I guess if the second amendment would be under attack it was only a matter of time the first would as well.

Hot Take: Thank you to the Federalist for taking up for free speech... Never honestly thought that'd be necessary

Until Tomorrow...
