  • President Trump will visit the Villages today in his rescheduled visit being joined by Governor Ron DeSantis. He’s set to sign an executive order aimed to sure up Medicare which is scheduled for insolvency within 8 years according to current federal estimates.
  • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in Weston today with a contingent of South Florida Democrats to discuss TPS with Venezuelan exiles. President Trump has rejected TPS status for additional refugees after years of previous recipients having status essentially made permanent by court extensions. It’s been used by some to avoid the legal immigration process.
  • Casey DeSantis announced a near $59 million federal grant to combat the opioid epidemic at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. In conjunction with the grant announcement she said a Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Prevention Coordinator will be added within the state’s Department of Health who will be specifically tasked with working to combat opioid issues with pregnant women, mothers and newborns
  • The recently approved Tri-Rail price increases, the first in ten years, set to take effect in January, average 62% for existing users of the service purchasing individual tickets and 25% for those purchasing monthly passes
