  • The second Florida Supreme Court Justice in two days appointed this year by Governor DeSantis is leaving our high court to join a federal court. Barbara Lagoa joins Robert Luck as Trump appointees to be confirmed to join the 11th US Circuit Court after Senate confirmation.
  • Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam ended his Presidential bid officially. He’d not registered in a nationally accredited poll in over two months
  • Florida’s record tourism run is continuing according to Visit Florida with 31.6 million visitors in the third quarter of the year placing Florida at more than 100 million visitors in just the first nine months of 2019.
  • The latest report on medical marijuana in Florida shows that 291,865 patients were certified for use in the state by the end of the third quarter and that 44% of patients are choosing smokable marijuana after the state’s decision to allow it earlier this year.
  • Amazon.com announced plans to open another distribution center in Florida. This one will be built in Auburndale and focus on large items such as furniture and sports equipment. Amazon will be hiring 500 new full-time employees for the facility. Amazon will have over 14,000 employees in Florida once the facility is online.
