Change In Taste & Smell For Some West Palm Beach Water Utilities Customers

Some customers of West Palm Beach utilities may notice a slight chlorine taste or odor in their tap water over the next few days.

Officials say this is affecting residents living west of Haverhill Road and that it won't cause any adverse health effects.

Due to a water main break, the city opened an emergency interconnect with the county water utilities department, which has been temporarily modifying its own water disinfection process.

The effects may last through Sunday.

The city advises anyone using home dialysis machines or owning tropical fish should seek professional advice.
