4th Lake Worth Beach Incumbent Loses Seat After Run-Off

A fourth incumbent is being replaced on the Lake Worth Beach Commission.

Two weeks after challengers defeated three commissioners who had served over nine years each, including Mayor Pam Triolo, Commissioner Carla Blockson is projected to lose her seat to a former member of the Commission.

Environmental Scientist Christopher McVoy captured 53 percent of the vote in Tuesday's run-off election for the District 2 seat. Blockson had been appointed to the seat late last year after Omari Hardy stepped down upon his State House win.

Just 198 votes separate McVoy and Blockson out of a turnout of more than three thousand residents.

D.D. Halpern took 56 percent of the vote in the Juno Beach Town Council run-off against Diana Davis and is expected to take over that vacant seat.
