  • Hurricane Tammy continues to slowly move north towards Bermuda after last weekend’s landfall in the Lesser Antilles. It’s expected to eventually weaken into a tropical storm later today as it takes a turn towards Bermuda when it’s then expected to bend back towards the east moving back towards the mid-Atlantic. 
  • Governor DeSantis ordered Florida colleges to dismantle the pro-Hamas/Palestinian student organization “Students for Justice in Palestine” on college campuses. The national organization has been known to promote Hamas which has been a designated terrorist organization according to the United States since 1997 and is responsible for the recent terror attacks on Israeli's. The order came amid the organization calling for a day of action across college campuses with toolkits they provided for demonstrations.  
  • Hundreds of residents attended the South End Neighborhood Association meeting in West Palm Beach Wednesday night. The meeting focused on a proposed mix-use development on S. Dixie Highway near the city limits with Lake Worth Beaches’ College Park Neighborhood. The development would include 358 apartments and a grocery store or two separate retail spaces. Opinions on the project were mixed. The City Council will take up the proposal in an upcoming meeting. 
  • Gas prices were flat over the past day. Statewide the average price for regular unleaded remains $3.32 per gallon – 5 cents higher than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.51 per gallon, which is the 5th highest price in the state.
