Creepy, Chilling & Haunting - Top 3 Takeaways – October 31st, 2023

Creepy, Chilling & Haunting - Top 3 Takeaways – October 31st, 2023

  1. Creepy. Joe Biden’s sniffing of children’s hair or nibbling on a child’s shoulder. Those are things that creepy. The Lake Worth Playhouse, The Blue Anchor Pub, The Flagler Museum. These are places that are said to be at least occasionally creepy. And paying for Halloween this year – that's definitely proved to creepy in more ways than one. First there’s the inflation creep. Take for example the cost of candy for Halloween this year. It’s 14% more expensive than last year and the two-year inflation rate is 28% and the three-year inflation rate is near 40%! ‘Bidenflation has sucked the blood out of our wallets...it’s effectively “fun size” for the of price full sized candy bars a few years ago. The other thing that’s creepier about Halloween this year is that there’s more people doing more of it. According to the National Retail Federation a record 73% of Americans are doing something for Halloween this year. Most commonly handing out candy with 68% of households participating. 53% have participated by decorating around their house and right at half of Americans will be in costume. From Creepy Joe to dolling out dough this year’s Halloween is somewhat objectively the creepiest ever.
  2. Chilling. The sheer evil carried out by Hamas has been nothing if not chilling. And while Israel’s ground incursion into Gaza now has the terrorists on the defensive, what’s being found in the process is an indication of just how horrifically chilling the attacks of the evil monsters have been. One of the most prominent scenes and prominent names of Hamas’ terror attack at the music festival involved the kidnapping and parading of the German citizen Shani Louk. The 23-year-old who was only partially clothed and unconscious as she was paraded in the back of a truck by Hamas terrorists. Her family had held out hope that she was still alive with other hostages but now we know her fate. During the ground incursion into Gaza, the IDF found her head. Only her head. Her body has not been recovered. It’s but the latest reminder of what evil is and what evil does which is chillingly approved of by an alarming number of Americans. Last week there was an initial survey which showed a majority of American Muslims were supportive of Hamas’ actions. The latest Harvard Harris poll continues to shed light on the depth of support for pure evil that exists within our society. A total of 14% of all Americans surveyed are supportive of Hamas, this includes 36% of those who define themselves as “liberals”. More chilling still...almost half of those between the ages of 25-35 expressed support for Hamas. Think about this for a moment. The trendy “liberal” position in this country is for Islamic terrorists to rape women and children, behead them and burn their bodies. So much so that evidently nearly half of those between the ages of 25-35 are on board with the kidnapping, raping, parading, beheading and burning of a 23-year-old German citizen. It’s no doubt chilling to think about what the future just might hold with such large numbers of young adults in this country thinking that’s apparently now an acceptable thing to do...you know in the name of Palestinian rights of course. I can’t help but to think that this is what happens when you remove God and any semblance of morality from society the way that ours has over the past 43-years since the onset of the Department of Education. In the absence of good you have evil. It’s been on display for the world to see. And remarkably for many in this country to embrace. The way we raise our children matters. Morality matters and there’s an evident need to seek it in this country. The other thing that is chilling this Halloween is the weather. Record lows will be felt across parts of the country this Halloween with an artic blast of air which will leave 2/3rd's of the country with well below average temperatures today. But not in South Florida where it will still be warm and breezy.
  3. Haunting. Do you believe in ghosts? Have you seen a ghost? If you do and if you have, you have some company, but maybe not as much as you might think. Surveying shows that 36% of Americans believe in ghosts while 24% think they’ve seen one. Interestingly in the supernatural realm more people are inclined to believe in extra-terrestrial life via UFO’s 39%, than of the earthly but departed variety. Also, more women believe in ghosts than men, but more men believe in extra-terrestrial UFO life than women. As for me, I believe and as part of today’s Q&A I’ll share with you haunted tales from the crypt, one literally, from my time in Savannah – which I found during my time there to be as haunted as its reputation.
