Stopping the Invasion & FACTS - Top 3 Takeaways – February 2nd, 2024

  1. Stop the invasion. Throughout this week in depicting the illegal immigration crisis I’ve highlighted how it’s finding its way into Florida more than any other state. On Tuesday I mentioned this: Florida currently has 481,376 asylum seekers in the pipeline, or... Close to 15% of the entire country’s total. For comparison’s sake, Florida’s population is under 7% of the national population. In other words, we’re attracting illegal immigrants at a rate that’s 220% faster than the national average. And the reason isn’t Florida’s fault. It’s entirely a process of the scam, I mean immigration operation, setup by the Biden Administration. The scam where someone who isn’t a legitimate asylum seeker says they’re seeking asylum and is relocated by the Biden Administration at our expense, to their destination of choice. I’m not surprised that Florida’s more than twice as desirable to illegal immigrants as other states, but I do find what’s happening to be outrageous. For all who’ve suggested Governor DeSantis’ foray into border politics, often sending Florida’s National Guard to the southern border in assistance of Texas has been an overreach. The reality on the ground is that Florida, as a state currently, has more at stake than any other state including Texas. Not only should Florida be engaged with what’s happening at the southern border there’s an obvious case to be made that Florida should be actively engaged every bit as much as Texas is. Only two days later Governor DeSantis delivered. Yesterday DeSantis announced he’s sending a battalion of up to 1,000 Florida National Guard Troops to help Texas secure its border. 100 troops were immediately sent. And in addition to the National Guard, Governor DeSantis is deploying the Florida State Guard to the southern border for the first time. This is far and away the most substantive campaign Florida’s undertaken yet to battle Biden’s border crisis – which again – most commonly leads to illegal immigrants coming into Florida.
  2. I don’t care if I offended you. Despite the coverage of some in the local news media the best thing that’s happened over the past week hasn’t been President Biden’s brief visit to a private fundraiser in Jupiter. It’s been the release of Indy rapper Tom MacDonald’s latest release called “FACTS” featuring Ben Shapiro. First and foremost, Ben Shapiro actually raps in this. Crazier still...he’s really good at it. Now as the person who has made a career out of highlighting that there are two sides to stories and one side to facts. How could I resist sharing the message of Tom MacDonald and Ben Shapiro’s FACTS? So, here goes. These are the lyrics: They call me offensive, controversial. There's only two genders, boys and girls. They can't cancel my message 'cause I'm the biggest independent rapper in the whole freaking world. Claim that I'm racist, yeah, alright. I'm not ashamed because I'm white. If every Caucasian's a bigot, I guess every Muslim's a terrorist, every liberal is right. I don't wanna talk to folks who don't get it. Go woke, go broke, no hope, it's pathetic. Pro-choice, pronouns, pro-love, you're progressives. But you ain't pro-gun, no one to protect it. Where the American flags at? Remember when people would hang those? They've been taken down, they all been replaced with BLM flags or a rainbow. This ain't rap, this ain't money, cars, and clothes. We ain't sellin' drugs, we ain't gonna overdose. We ain't pushing guns, ain't promoting stripper poles. We won't turn your sons into thugs or your daughters into hoes. I don't care if I offend you. I was put here to upset you. You can cry and you can scream, you can riot in the streets. You defunded the police, now there's no one to protect you. I hope I offend you. I ask myself, "What would Ben do?". Let's just keep it real, facts don't care how you feel, man. If you want my pronouns, I'm the man, I'm the man who don't respect you. And that’s all Tom MacDonald. And now for the most unlikely rapper since Weird Al Yankovic... Enter Ben Shapiro’s lines: Let's look at the stats, I've got the facts. My money like Lizzo, my pockets are fat. Homie, I'm epic, don't be a WAP. Dawg, it's a yarmulke, homie, no cap. Look at the graphs, look at my charts. You're blowing money on strippers and cars. You're going to prison, I'm on television. Dawgs, no one knows who you are. Keep hating on me on the internet. My comments section all woke Karens. And I make racks off compound interest. Y'all live with your parents. Nicki, take some notes, I just did this for fun. All my people download this, let's get a Billboard number one. Now Billboard has ignored the success of FACTS entirely this week. But as always there are two sides to stories and one side to FACTS. And the fact of the matter is that Tom MacDonald and Ben Shapiro knocked Nicki Minaj, who is the Nicki Ben was referring to, off the top of the charts. The number one song on Apple Music is FACTS and has been all week. And here’s the next shocker... Nicki Minaj seemingly supports it. She posted on X – I just listened to it @benshapiro not bad. Congrats on #1. This has led to a mini meltdown in certain circles. Take for example The Washington Post which literally asks the question how this could happen and then tries to explain it to their ever-woke readers. In the story entitled: Ben Shapiro’s new song #1 on iTunes How did that happen? They explain: The song’s name is drawn from Shapiro’s catchphrase, “facts don’t care about feelings,” one that he frequently uses to argue ideas that mainstream listeners might find offensive. “Facts” features a number of lyrics that seem to call back to talking points floated frequently from far-right wing influencers and media outlets. I don’t know what’s more entertaining about this...The Washington Post trying to explain to their “mainstream” readers how the number one song could be something that’s effectively mocking them...or that “mainstream listeners” might find it offensive. Now, on a personal note. I do get offended by things. Not when woke leftists come at me trying to say how horrible I am or something like that. But from a place of basic decency, right and wrong, I do get offended. I’m offended when people use the Lord’s name in vain. I’m offended when people advocate for killing babies in the womb like it’s some normal form of birth control. I’m offended when the Biden Department of Justice let’s violent racist rioters off the hook but seeks to put peaceful pro-life protestors in jail for over a decade. I’m offended by all of those things not for me but because they go against God’s teachings. But when was the last time the Washington Post & co. took time to explain to their “mainstream” readers something like that? And when was it exactly that simply having faith in God rather than having faith in nothing became mainstream? So yes, like the song FACTS by the prolific rapper Ben Shapiro says – I don’t care if I offend you because if you’re offended...you’re offended by the truth.
