MAGA Is Mainstream - Top 3 Takeaways – February 28th, 2024

MAGA Is Mainstream - Top 3 Takeaways – February 28th, 2024

  1. MAGA is mainstream. While the truest test of whether the MAGA agenda is in fact the country’s desired agenda will come in November (because it’s a foregone conclusion that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president as last night’s landslide win in the Michigan primary further reinforced) ...there’s ample and growing evidence that it is today. Joni Mitchell popularized the saying “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone”, it appears a large and ever growing contingent of Americans feel that way when it comes to who’s President of the United States. Yes, former President Trump continues to consistently lead President Biden in presidential polls – including most importantly showing leads in all key swing states. However no, that’s not nearly the extent of the story. It’s about the issues. And starting in January, the top issue of this election cycle became immigration – most specifically the illegal immigration crisis created in this country due to Biden’s open border policies. It isn’t that the economy is any less important to most Americans. The average American is 3% worse off financially today than the day that Joe Biden became President of the United States, it’s that the border crisis has become a problem that’s even greater as it’s being felt in communities clear across the country. When Americans don’t even feel safe to do the things they used to do, that’s about the one time an issue can become greater than the issue of the average family not being able to afford to do what they used to do. And that’s where we are. In today’s Q&A I will illustrate that crimes committed by illegal immigrants, or “noncitizens” as the federal government refers to them for record keeping purposes, have risen by greater than 600% since Joe Biden became president – including a 15-fold increase in the number of murders committed by illegals...ahem...noncitizens. The crisis is as real as it gets and as stunning as nursing student Lanken Riley’s murder on the University of Georgia’s campus was, it’s actually and sadly just a flashpoint in a growing epidemic. And it’s for these reasons that MAGA is now mainstream. First and foremost, the concept of Making America Great Again should be a mainstream concept. In an average of polls only 24% of Americans think the country is on the right track.
  2. Clearly the country isn’t heading in a great direction. While Biden has regularly attempted to condemn the MAGA movement and its supporters, what’s really worthy of condemnation is how poorly run this country is according to an overwhelming majority of Americans. In any event if you had to pick just one issue that is most associated with the MAGA movement it would no doubt be illegal immigration. And if there were one defining policy position associated with that issue it would be the building of the border wall. And that’s why it’s now accurate to say that MAGA has gone mainstream. According to the latest Monmouth University polling, the desire for the completion of the southern border wall has never been higher. Not in 2016 when Trump was first running for president, not in 2017 after he was sworn in as president, not in 2021 when he exited as president. “The Wall” had always polled with somewhere between 35%-44% support – until now. 53% of Americans, 9% more than ever before, say they want the border wall built. And if immigration is a top issue this election cycle, and if well over half of the country wants the border wall built – there’s no doubt about who to elect to finish building it...and it’s clear that the party responsible for the illegal immigration crisis has no intention to end the crisis.
  3. One instance shouldn’t shape policy. From the folks who turned George Floyd’s murder into a political movement that ravaged American cities for months, shook down corporate America into contributing to a corrupt racist hate organization rooted in Marxism, and led to about every blue state and city in the country changing policies, a la the institution of no cash bail systems – that continue to fail communities every day – comes that statement. California Representative Katie Porter was asked if the murder of Laken Riley at the hands of an illegal immigrant brought into this country by Biden’s open border policies and released by New York City police without being prosecuted for a crime he’d committed in that city – and prior to the ability for ICE to issue a detainer request to deport him – said this: I think the important thing to focus on is any one instance shouldn‘t shape our overall immigration policy. Just a little hypocritical, aren’t we? But beyond the hypocrisy here’s the thing. It’s so far from being “one instance” that it’s remarkable how stupid she and they think you really are. Since Joe Biden became president 165 Americans have been murdered by illegal immigrants. And notably, there have been more Americans murdered by illegal immigrants since October than during the during the entire four years of the Trump presidency. So, to the horrible politicians and public officials who’ve created those victims. And for the horrible politicians and public officials who’re continuing to advocate for the existing policy. If one instance isn’t enough to change policy, unless it involves instituting Marxism and allowing for riots, are 165 “instances” and counting enough? Or what’s the magic number of murdered Americans at the hands of illegal immigrants sufficient for you to care? MAGA has gone mainstream and thank God it has. There is desperately a need to Make America Great Again. November can’t get here soon enough.
