Bottom Line: Historically Americans have not only been self-aware with regard to our waistlines. We've also been willing to at least attempt to do something about them when they've expanded. For the first time on record, that's no longer the case. 

According to new research from Georgia Southern University - just 49% of those who admit they're overweight have attempted to do anything about it over the prior year (it was 55% previously). Clearly the longer term health implications of not attempting to reign in one's weight could be a further issue still...
