June.
Florida's job growth followed a steady incline in June, one that only gained more strength throughout the month of July.
Overall, the state created the second highest number of jobs in the nation and had the best relative growth in the country, according to info within ADP's private sector jobs report. Apparently, the number seven (being that July is the seventh month of the year) is lucky for the Sunshine State!
Here were the highlights for July:
- +18,100 private sector jobs in Florida
Breaking that down by select industries:
- +5,100 professional and business service jobs
- +2,300 trade, transportation and utility jobs
- +1,000 natural resource/mining and construction jobs
- +700 manufacturing jobs
With 178,000 private sector jobs added nationally, Florida accounted for 10.2 percent of all jobs added.
And with just 6.3 percent of the population residing in our state, that's job growth at an impressive 62 percent better than average!
Florida remains the third biggest producer of jobs overall and the second best producer of jobs on a relative basis since the end of the Great Recession in 2009.
