Top Three Takeaways – June 11th, 2021

  1. Now it’s up to you. The Florida Board of Education did its part to ban the teaching of racism in Florida’s schools when they decided to adopt the rule change which prohibits: Something other than the creation of a new nation based largely on universal principles stated in the Declaration of Independence. Prevents teachers from: (Sharing) their personal views or attempt to indoctrinate or persuade students to a particular point of view. The 1619 Project books are still in the libraries of Florida’s schools. Should they be? The Palm Beach County School District still has an “equity statement”, which is straight out of Karl Marx’s playbook. Should that be allowed to stand? And as for what specifically happens in the classroom itself. Is it a certainty that just because the state has banned indoctrination in our classrooms, that it won’t happen away? Therefore, it’s critical parents are always in touch with their children’s education. It’s always been important but now more than ever. Most importantly, what’s changed for concerned parents with the state’s ruling is a path forward for accountability. Rather than feeling helpless, you can report violations online directly to the state. The DeSantis administration has done its part to restore integrity to Florida’s education system through the elimination of Common Core and the implementation of the BEST curriculum. And now, by banning the teaching of racism and indoctrination in our schools. It’s our turn to do our part to take back our education system from the radicals running the teacher’s unions and commonly our school districts. But it requires engagement and effort. Engagement daily with our kids and engagement regularly with school board officials and meetings.
  2. It’s the dollar stupid. So, here’s the harsh reality that you kinda already knew just from buying stuff but now can quantify. You must be earning 5% more today than a year ago just to break even (have the same buying power). The CPI rising by 5% isn’t just the highest since the summer of 2008. It’s only the third time in the past 40 years it’s been so high. A big part of the problem... The core inflation rate. Excluding food and energy prices still rose by 3.8%. That suggests relief really isn’t on the way. But here’s the thing. As I mentioned last month. It’s the dollar stupid. As Biden continues to throw money around like candy that we don’t have, the Federal Reserve is continuing to “monetize our debt”. That means inventing new money out of thin air. That naturally makes the dollar in your pocket worth less and that’s the driving factor here. The US Dollar Index that values the US dollar against leading world currencies shows the US dollar is worth 7.25% less today than a year ago today. The watering down of our money supply to pay for free puppies and candy and Biden bucks is making everything in your life more expensive. Biden’s already raising taxes on you to pay for the “free” stuff. Starting with devaluing your money.
  3. Thank God I live in Florida. Florida’s CFO, and generally good human, Jimmy Patronis tweeted that out recently. Amen brother. Amen. And a Friday only makes that reality sweeter.
