Universal Orlando Worker Helps Autistic Boy In Time Of Need

A Florida theme park employee is being called a real life superhero because of what she did at the Spiderman ride in Islands of Adventure.

Last week at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, an autistic boy who was visiting the park for the first time with his family had a meltdown.

He laid down on the floor of the ride after the family was told that it was broken and they would not be able to ride it that day.

That's when worker Jen Whelchel came over and laid down next to him.

She spoke calmly to the nine-year-old, until he felt better and was able to get up; she also offered a free toy from the gift shop.

According to his mother's Facebook post, her son was extremely excited about the Spiderman ride and was looking forward to it the whole day.

Whelchel explained to the boy's mother that they go through training to help people who are awesomely Autistic, as well as other special needs.
