Palm Beach County Health Officials Issue Advisory For Dengue Fever

Aedes aegypti

Mosquito experts say there's never been a locally-transmitted case of Dengue fever in Palm Beach County and health officials are not taking any chances.

They've issued an advisory after the first confirmed locally-acquired case in Broward County this year and the fourth case was confirmed in Miami-Dade.

There are 17 mosquito trapping locations across Palm Beach County that are checked twice a week.

Residents are urged to drain any standing water from outside their homes to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes. Joint and muscle pain, along with headaches and fever are among the symptoms of Dengue fever.
