WWE's O'Neil and Florida Aquarium Team Up for Australia Wildlife

TAMPA -- WWE wrestler Titus O'Neil and the Florida Aquarium are joining forces to raise funds for rehabilitation of animals caught up in Australia's massive wildfires.

O'Neil appeared in a video with Aquarium CEO Roger Germann to promote an all-day fundraiser Saturday.

The aquarium is raising contributions on its website and donating all admission fees Saturday to the Wildlife Hospital at Australia Zoo. The zoo and hospital were founded by the late conservationist Steve Irwin and are managed by his family.

O'Neil plans a money match up to $25,000. He describes Irwin's widow Terri, and their children Bindi and Robert as "like family."

Germann says the aquarium, which also has a conservation mission, "couldn't sit idly by and watch millions of animals, some on the brink of extinction, perish due to the devastation."

“The impact to wildlife is going to be felt for generations. We are honored to team up with Titus to support our friends at Australia Zoo, the Irwin family, and their dedicated rescue experts and volunteers. We are a not-for-profit ourselves, but donating these funds to save wildlife supports our mission.”
