Video Shows Man Punching Dog At Florida Park

Police are investigating after video of man punching a dog at a park in Boynton Beach made the rounds on social media.

The incident happened Sunday at Intracoastal Park in Boynton Beach, police said.

The video, shared on numerous Facebook pages including Boynton Beach Raw and Mutty Paws Rescue, caused quite an uproar.

Police took custody of the dog and turned it over to Palm Beach Animal Care and Control to be examined by a veterinarian.

The dog, named Adi, is a two-year-old female pit-lab mix. She will stay with the county pending the outcome of the investigation.

Police said its animal cruelty investigator spoke to Adi's owner on Monday morning and planned to do a welfare check of his home to check on any other animals.

"I will do my absolute best to pursue justice for this innocent animal,' said Liz Roehrich, who has served as the department’s animal cruelty investigator for 28 years. "We will always investigate acts of animal abuse and neglect in the city."
