FL Panthers Home Opener Delayed Because Of Stars' COVID-19 Outbreak

The Florida Panthers home opener has been delayed because of a COVID-19 outbreak within the Dallas Stars' organization.

In a statement, the Stars confirm six players and two staffers have tested positive. Their season can not begin before January 19th.

They were set to hit the ice at the BB&T Center on Thursday and Friday against the Panthers before heading to Tampa to face the Stanley Cup champion Lightning.

The Panthers will now begin their season at home against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday the 17th.

The Lightning begin their season at home against the Blackhawks on Wednesday the 13th.
