Miami Gets District Voting Map Makeover Ahead Of November Elections

The city of Miami i getting a new voting map, thanks to a federal judge siding with the A-C-L-U's claim that the proposed map was racially gerrymandered. Commissioner Manolo Reyes is crying foul saying he lost half of the district he has represented for the past six years just three months before the election. The new map puts Commissioner Joe Carollo's Coconut Grove home outside of his district meaning he will have to move to comply with the city's residency requirement. The city plans to appeal.
