(Miami, Fla) - The National Weather service is projecting that 4-8 inches of rain will fall on Miami through Thursday causing flooding.

"Periods of heavy rain is expected today, especially across the east coast metro, where 3-8 inches and localized amounts in excess of 10 inches is possible through Thursday morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Miami-Dade, along with coastal/metro Broward and Palm Beach counties."

And the rainy, windy weather is causing flooding in downtown Miami especially along North Bayshore Drive.

City spokeswoman Kenia Fallat advises against driving through standing water, instead seek an alternate route.

Fallat says all temporary pumps are in place and operational. If you encounter flooding, you can call 311 to report the location so pumps can be deployed.
