A prominent South Florida attorney, activist and rabbi has died.
Barry Silver's congregation at the L'Dor Va-Dor Synagogue in Boynton Beach says the former state representative passed away this week at the age of 67.
Silver was a spokesman for many causes, including abortion rights, campaigns against antisemitism and recently held prayer services for Ukraine.
The congregation says Silver had been battling an illness for some time.
Silver served in the state House from 1996 to 1998.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony this Sunday at the Rubin Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach and due to limited space, a live stream link will be provided to the public.
