The 15-year old son of Jupiter Island resident Tiger Woods has failed to qualify for the U.S. Open.

Charlie Woods played in a qualifier at Legacy Golf and Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie on Thursday.

He shot a 9-over-81 and tied for 61st among the 74 players. The top five advanced to regional qualifying.

The U.S. Open is in North Carolina in June.

The younger Woods also struggled in February in a Hobe Sound pre-qualifier for the PGA's Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

He's played the PNC Championship with his father the last four years in a scramble format.
