Indiana Sheriff's Office Installs Fallen Officer Christmas Tree

A law enforcement agency in Indiana is doing something special for fallen officers this Christmas.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office put up a tree last week, featuring 138 blue ornaments to represent all of the officers in the U.S. who have died in the line of duty this year.

Each one features an officer's name, rank and their end of watch date.

They include 10 officers from Florida who lost their lives while protecting their communities.

One of the officers was Boone County's own Deputy Jacob Pickett, a 34-year old veteran of the department who was shot and killed following a police chase back in March.

After Christmas, all of the ornaments be given to the departments where the fallen officers worked.
