Following Disney’s public campaign against the passage of the Parental Rights in Education law in 2022, the state of Florida dissolved Disney’s self-governance via the Reedy Creek Improvement District which was replaced by the state-directed Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. Disney alleged retaliation. Disney had that suit dismissed in January but were appealing the decision.
