Changes with TSA Precheck are being phased in:

Bottom Line: A couple of million regular travelers were initially granted access to the TSA Precheck program for free. The idea was that with the origination of the program, there were be lanes that'd go unused until people decided to sign up for the service. Plus others would see how much quicker it'd be for them to go through the Precheck line vs the regular security line (or at least that was their line of thinking). Anyway, all of those who were granted free Precheck status are now being phased off of the program and will have to pay to continue to use the service. So if this mean you (my wife Ashley is one of the affect), you might need to prepare to have to account for this change the next time you fly – which could include a little extra time if you're used to racing through the security line.
