Tracking Trump - The President's approval:
Bottom Line: For the political junkies that missed the Friday political series...We're back with a weekly tracking series. This is the 2nd edition... In this series we'll track the high point, low point and current ratings and week over week comparisons. So let's get started.
Trump's initial approval ratings were 45% approval and 45% disapproval (1/23/17)
Trump highest approval ratings were an average 45.2% approval and 43% disapproval +2.2% (1/27/17)
Trump's current and now lowest ratings are an average 44.8% approval and 46.5% disapprove -1.7% (2/3/17)
This week's ratings could be a bad news/good news situation for the President. After the messy roll out of his immigration executive order which was relentlessly pressed, often being deliberately misreported as a "Muslim Ban" by every vocal opponent imaginable (media, Democrats, celebrities and other assorted leftist) - The President only lost .4% of his approval. It did drive his disapproval number higher by 3.5% however placing him in net negative territory for the first time in my tracking. So the net result is that Trump's net approval vs disapproval rating is 3.9% lower vs a week ago. Something that's somewhat notable for a new President, but not surprising due to the high level of awareness of Donald Trump, is that only 8.7% of Americans don't have an opinion of the President. That means that we're likely to see much less movement than we're accustomed to seeing with a new President but that it's still possible for the President to have majority support as "just 46.5%" disapprove of him despite the rabid negativity of those who oppose him.
