A tow truck driver died Wednesday after falling off of the Congress Avenue overpass of I-95, where a semi is dangling in Boca Raton.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened in the 5 a.m. hour, and shut down three southbound lanes, which remained closed as of this posting.
The driver of the 18-wheeler says he was trying to make a U-turn on the ramp when he lost control, causing the truck to flip over.
The driver was able to safely escape but the tow truck driver, who was responding to the scene, fell over the edge to his death.
The backups continue in the area both south and northbound.
