Honoring A Member Of PBSO's Dispatch

This week, we honor Regina Pritchard, who has been named the 2017 Communicator of the Year by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.  She's been an emergency dispatcher for PBSO for the past 16 years.

Pritchard was given the award for a call she answered from the Broward County Sheriff's Office, in which officials wanted deputies to check on the welfare of a suburban Boca Raton woman.  Pritchard says she discovered that the woman was wanted as a person of interest in a homicide.  Palm Beach County Deputies were then sent to detain the woman and hold her for questioning by Broward authorities.

The awards ceremony was streamed live on Facebook as part of National Telecommunicators Week, as declared by Congress.  Watch it above.
