Wife Mourns Tow Truck Driver Who Died Responding To Boca Semi Crash

The widow of a tow truck driver who was killed while responding to a semi crash at I-95 in Boca Raton on Wednesday is speaking out.

FHP Investigators say 69-year old Boca resident Richard Jason Randolph was attempting to hook the 18-wheeler to his tow truck when slipped off the Congress Avenue overpass and fell to his death.

His widow Judy spoke with our CBS 12 partners.

"It's going to hit me that he's not coming home today and I don't like it."

She says her husband was turning 70 in November and planned to retire so the couple could move to north Florida.  The woman is doing her best to cope.

"Someone told me years ago that when somebody good dies that God wants flowers in his gardens and that's why good people go."

The driver of the semi, 38-year old Adrian Figueredo, says he was trying to make a U-turn on the ramp when he lost control and flipped the truck, resulting in it dangling off of the overpass.  He escaped without injuries and was cited for making an improper left turn, fatigue and driving over allowable limits.
