Free bicycle helmets will be given out to children at the Palm Beach Outlets, during Safe Kids Day, a worldwide event to raise awareness about preventable injuries, which are the leading killer of kids in the U.S.
The first 500 children to come to the "Stay Safe Kids Day" event Saturday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. will receive a free helmet.
West Palm Beach Police and firefighters will be on hand and parents will be offered child safety tips.
The event is being hosted by the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County.

Who: Palm Beach Outlets and Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County
What: Safe Kids Day is a worldwide event to raise awareness about preventable injuries, the leading killer of children in the United States. The first 500 children to come to the event will receive a free bicycle helmet. In addition, there will be a bicycle rodeo and children will be able to get a free ID as well as meet with West Palm Beach police and firefighters. Various organizations and vendors will offer child safety tips and connect families with needed resources and services in the community.
