Gov. Scott: 2 FEMA Grants To Help In Wildfire Response

Governor Rick Scott says the state has received two grants from FEMA to help respond to the brush fires burning across Florida.

Scott says the Fire Management Assistance Grants covers 75 percent of eligible costs, including equipment use, materials and the costs associated with fighting the fires from the air.

The largest wildfire in the state has been burning in Collier County, on the southwest coast, stretching to 5,500 acres.

As of Sunday, the Florida Forest Service said there were 125 brush fires burning more than 84,000 acres.
