Suspected SunFest Cell Phone Thief Arrested

SunFest has wrapped up for another year along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach and while it was a fun time for thousands, the event took a negative turn for some.

There were a number of reports of cell phones stolen, and police have arrested a suspect.  30-year old Angel Torres was picked up Saturday night.

Extra security and undercover officers were in place after reports of stolen items from the previous three days of the festival, and officers quickly moved in to take Torres into custody.  They found 29 cell phones, a wallet and several credit cards in his backpack.

The Miami man faces charges of robbery and grand theft.

Police are now working to notify the owners of the stolen items.

Victims are asked to file a report first, then contact SunFest organizers to find out if your item wound up in the Lost and Found.
