Armed Robbery Suspect Killed By Deputies

A man who had engaged in a chase and fired at deputies in West Palm Beach Friday morning was later killed in Jupiter, while exchanging gunfire with deputies again.

Phillip O'Shea was wanted after an armed robbery at a bar near Okeechobee Boulevard and the Turnpike.

He took off with deputies following him then flipped a car on Church Street.  O'Shea then fired at deputies, who fired back.  A deputy injured, but not from gunfire, was quickly released from the hospital.

Hours later, it was determined that the suspect stole a car and was found in a parking lot near Military Trail in Jupiter.  O'Shea again fired at deputies when they approached him.  Deputies fired back, killing the man.

A K-9 Deputy, "Kasper", who was shot during that exchange has been treated and sent home.

O'Shea was wanted for robberies in North Carolina and Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says he was believed to be behind some other local robberies.

Family members say O'Shea committed the crimes to feed his drug habit.
