Job Fair For Veterans

If you know any veterans who are out of work, a job fair is being held at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.

It's happening at the hospital on Saturday, and spokesperson Kenita Gordon says they are one of the employers with jobs available.

"We're definitely really hardcore recruiting for nurses right now.  That is one of the areas that we do have a great need to recruit in.  LPN's, RN's, please stop by.  We definitely want to take a look at your resume and get you to work, especially if you're one of our area veterans."

She says the medical center also has openings in human resources and administration.

Among the other 20 or so employers taking part in the event are Publix, G4S Security, Wells Fargo, Tri-Rail, Palm Beach State College, the United States Postal Service and Humana.

Gordon, who served in the U.S. Army, tells us that veterans offer great job skills for employers.

"They bring a sense of dedication, pride, hard work ethic and a sense of camaraderie that they automatically have when they're in the military.  And when they come out of the military, that camaraderie...that sense of wanting to have that sort of environment to work in is still there."
