Palm Beach County's Population Increased in 2016, As Did All Local Cities

Southern Palm Beach County cities led the way in growth in 2016, according to new numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau.

A check on the statistics shows that Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach saw most of the biggest increases in population in Palm Beach County, year over year.  

Boca went up by 2.75 percent, Delray by 1.78 percent and Boynton by 2.27 percent from 2015 to 2016. 

Other local cities that saw increases above 1% include Juno Beach (2.68%), Jupiter (1.70%), Loxahatchee Groves (1.38%), Manalapan (2.01%), North Palm Beach (1.18%), Palm Beach Gardens (1.71%), Palm Beach Shores (2.49%) and Wellington (2.25%).  

The city of West Palm Beach saw its population rise by 1.21 percent and Palm Beach County as a whole increased by just over 1.5 percent and there were no declines in population anywhere in the county.  

The total population was 1,443,810 in 2016.
