Affordable Housing Summit In West Palm Beach

Jimmy Carter Helps Habitat For Humanity Build 1000th Home In New Orleans

An Affordable Housing Summit is being held Wednesday in West Palm Beach.

Palm Beach County Commissioners are hosting the event at the Convention Center to come up with ideas to make housing more affordable for lower income families.

That's also the mission of Habit for Humanity of Palm Beach County.  The non-profit will be taking part in the summit.  Later Habitat is hosting a fundraiser.

The Lilly Pulitzer Spring Fashion Show is held inside Saks Fifth Avenue's Gardens Mall location.  It will be followed by a chance to shop at Lilly Pulitzer at the mall and have 10 percent of your purchase donated to Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County.

Habitat provides a "hand up, not a hand out", with homeowners paying off a 30 year, interest-free mortgage and helping to build their own homes.
