A man was bitten by a shark as he surfed off Singer Island yesterday.
Witnesses say the surfer was bitten about 20 to 30 yards off shore in about eight feet of water. He paddled back to the beach on his surfboard and asked for help.
The surfer reportedly said he saw bait fish in front of him and all of a sudden a dark shadow appeared, followed by pain in his leg. The injuries weren't critical. Paramedics treated the man on the beach.
