11 Ocean Rescue Efforts in PBC Waters Sunday

Stormy wave in sea

It was a busy Sunday for beach goers and rescue crews in Palm Beach County.

The total number of ocean rescue efforts here was 11.  That includes a 14-year old Pahokee boy who died at the hospital after being pulled from the water off Ocean Reef Park in Riviera Beach.

Several other swimmers were rescued from the waters near Singer Island, two people were rescued off Lake Worth Beach, another four off Jupiter beach.  Also, one person was pulled from the water off Burt Reynolds Park.

A Bright Spot

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office announced Monday morning that a swimmer who was believed to have been missing in the waters off Lantana Beach Sunday night, is not missing after all.

A group of swimmers were in the water and when they got out, they didn't notice that one swimmer got out as well.

Investigators think that swimmer may have exited the water elsewhere.
