Venus Williams Faces Wrongful Death Suit

2017 French Open - Day Eight

A wrongful death suit is being filed against Venus Williams after a crash that claimed the life of a 78-year old man.

Palm Beach County attorney Michael Steinger was on "Good Morning America", announcing that he has been hired by Linda Barson, to sue the tennis star over the crash that happened back on June 9.

Barson was driving, and her husband Jerome was in the passenger seat.  He died later from head injuries suffered during the crash which happened along Northlake Boulevard, at BallenIsles in Palm Beach Gardens.

Williams reportedly told officers on the scene that she didn't see the other car as she crossed Northlake.

Her attorney says she hasn't received a citation or ticket, but the police report states that Venus was at fault for violating the right of way.
