Hysterical Media Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for September 25th:
Bottom Line: Here are today's headlines brought to you by your friends in the generally Godless, soulless & slanderous news media:
Trump's Blatantly Racist Attack on the NFL & Curry David Remnick, The New Yorker
Excerpt: On Tuesday, he ranted from the lectern of the U.N. General Assembly about “Rocket Man” and the possibility of levelling North Korea. Now he has followed with an equally unhinged domestic performance at a rally, on Friday evening, in Huntsville, Alabama, where he set out to make African-American athletes the focus of national contempt.
In the midst of an eighty-minute speech intended to heighten the reëlection prospects of Senator Luther Johnson Strange III, Trump turned his attention to N.F.L. players, including the former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, and asked a mainly white crowd if “people like yourselves” agreed with his anger at “those people,” players who take a knee during the national anthem to protest racism.
Hypocrisy knows no bounds. Did anything jump out at you in that slanderous piece? A mainly white crowd...so the very people who masquerade as the ultimate equality types are the very ones who see evidently everything through the prism of race.
Excerpt: In a flurry of comments historically unsuited to any head of state, yet hardly shocking for the current American president, Donald Trump this weekend targeted the two most popular sports in the country and elicited sharp criticism from some of their most important figures.
On Friday, Trump encouraged franchise owners in the National Football League to fire players who protest during the national anthem. “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out. He’s fired,’” the president said at an Alabama rally.
Trump’s comment provoked Roger Goodell, the typically reticent commissioner of the NFL, to issue a strong statement condemning the president’s divisive language. The comment was particularly surprising, since most NFL owners who elect the league commissioner are staunch Republicans. Many of the most prominent owners donated to the Trump campaign.
So once again in an, they think you're stupid moment, who politicized the NFL? No, don't look at the players protesting on the field in uniform. Don't look at the cowardly owners of these teams who allow players on the field in uniform to protest, don't look at the pathetic excuse of a commissioner who allows both the players and the owners to politicize the game - for well over a year now. No, instead put it at the feet of the President who said what every last one of us who only wants to watch a damn football game for entertainment has been thinking ever since Colin Kaepernick and the merry band of ignorant ingrates began protesting the very people who provide the freedoms they abuse and the police who protect even their sorry butts.
Graham-Cassidy Bill Would Be an Act of Mass Suicide Atul Gawande, The New Yorker
Melania Trump is under fire for the outfit she wore in Michelle Obama's vegetable garden Business Insider
Excerpt: Trump wore a Balmain plaid shirt to the event, along with Converse sneakers, CNN's Kate Bennett reported on Twitter.
Net-A-Porter is selling the shirt for $1,380, and it perfectly matched Trump's gardening gloves.
There is a race to see which media bigots can demonstrate peak pettiness. Let's see, billionaire is wearing an expensive shirt for gardening. Oh my gosh, stop the presses and slander this woman. Fast!
The material here is amazing and wonderful in it's absurdity simultaneously. Once again, if you look at these through the prism of Donald Trump being President, and more elected Republicans serving in the United States since the 1920's...it's pretty hilarious! The air of desperation, advocacy and instructions for their people really do take themselves completely seriously!
