Vegas Massacre: The Latest

The death toll sits at 50 in the deadliest mass shooting  in U.S. history, and the deadliest event on U.S. soil since the 9-11 attacks.  More than 400 people were wounded while watching a country music festival.  Singer Jason Aldean was performing when the shots rang out, coming from a hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino and hotel on the Las Vegas strip after 10 p.m. Vegas time.  64-year old Stephen Paddock killed himself before police burst into the hotel room, using an explosive device to blow the door open.  His “companion,” Mary Lou Danley, also in her 60’s, was picked up for questioning outside of the country.  Officials say Paddock and Danley were living together near Las Vegas and the two had traveled somewhere in recent days, though details of where and when specifically have not been released.  No motive announced, but authorities say Paddock was not linked to any militant groups.

President Trump has tweeted about the tragedy:

Vero Beach resident and country star Jake Owen was on stage about an hour before the shots were fired.  He took to Twitter:
