Hysterical Media Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for October 3rd:
Bottom Line: These are you daily doses of nonsense from the generally godless, soulless and slanderous news media...
There Can Be No Truce With the Second Amendment Adam Gopnik, The New Yorker
Excerpt: President Trump, deprived from birth by some genetic accident of all natural human empathy...some of us, in our innocence, proposed a sort of truce about Second Amendment issues in the face of the ongoing national emergency—the Trump Presidency—in which it seemed essential to make common cause...Between the consolidated power of the pro-gun right, and the truth that gun control has slipped down the agenda of even anti-violence liberals, this means that the only American response to regular mass gun killings will be a shrug and faked sympathy. It is hard to know how to stay too far ahead of despair.
I honestly don't know what's more disgusting? The abject hatred of our President to the extent that the most vitriolic language/behavior emerges at him in the wake of one of our country's most painful days or that without any information about the legality of the weapons used (automatic weapons aren't legally produced in the US) so many leftists bent on taking away firearms from legal owners view this as an opportunity. They're both disgusting and speak to about the lowest form of the human condition.
Trump's Tweets: A Presidential Wrecking Ball Julian Zelizer, CNN
Excerpt: It would be a grave mistake to ask, as the media often does, whether this (Presidential tweets about the San Juan mayor over the weekend) is another "distraction" from the serious issues confronting the Oval Office, an effort to shift public attention away from the President's more serious problems like the collapse of health care legislation or the growing tension with North Korea.
Now I actually agree with the premise of the healthcare reform failure being a real problem (for all of us – not just him politically) but I can't stop but to think of the irony of this piece. The entire point of this piece is designed to slander President Trump. Yet what are the examples used that the President is theoretically attempting to distract from...? Oh, that's right the two things that President Obama fixed right? You know, our healthcare cost crisis via the "Affordable Care Act" and foreign policy because remember how the world hated the US after the Bush years? All fixed right? Just like all of our roads and infrastructure via those shovels ready jobs right? The hypocrisy of these godless, soulless and slanderous types really knows no bounds.
