Need more motivation to shed a few pounds? This should do it:

Bottom Line: There are reasons, too numerous to name, that point to why we should do our best to maintain our waistlines. The motivation to fight the good fight can be easily overcome by our busy schedules, ease of obtaining highly caloric food, portion sizes which only seem to grow & our personal vises. The top killer in the US is already cardiovascular disease – which is significant enough on its own (and commonly a byproduct of what leads to extra pounds we lug around as well). But back to the new information...

According to the CDC, being overweight increases cancer risk by 40%. And what types of cancer risk are among those most likely to exacerbate via extra poundage? Many of the most dangerous/deadly including bladder, pancreatic and colon cancers. Makes sense when you think about the extra work required by those organs. Odds are you already know enough to do what you need to do if losing weight is a priority for you but the one thing that you shouldn't take for granted is the long-term impact of waiting to take action.
