79 Proposals To Amend Florida Constitution

San Quentin State Prison's Death Row

Florida's Constitution Revision Commission has submitted nearly 80 proposals to amend the state's constitution.

The review happens every 20 years...the commission meets for about a year, traveling the state looking for potential issues.

Some of the 79 proposals this time around include eliminating the death penalty and restoring voting rights to certain felons.

Others include prohibiting the use of vaping devices in workplaces and the elmination of greyhound racing.

The commission still has to vote on the proposals before they make it to the 2018 ballot.  Any amendment proposals that make it to the ballot would need 60 percent approval.
