Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for December 28th:

Bottom Line: These are your daily doses of nonsense from the (often GSS) media and my hot takes...

Looking to skirt new tax deduction limit? Sorry, Florida won't let you - Sun-Sentinel

Hot Take: Here's a trick question how can you pay a bill that doesn't exist? But that didn't stop a story being written about it that has little opportunity to do more than confuse people who can still benefit from paying their current property tax bill before next week. Florida won't let you? That's not even correct. The IRS stated that you can't deduct something on your taxes this year that hasn't been assessed What kind of foolishness is this story? In a separate story today, I covered why it could be advantageous to pay your existing property tax bill this week. According to my estimates about 26% of people who currently itemize on their taxes won't have a reason to do so with the new tax reform next year. That means that paying your property tax bill, if you haven't already, could be useful as a deduction on your 2017 taxes that you might not otherwise benefit from next year. But this story isn't about that. Instead it's a semi-hit piece on Florida not letting you "prepay" your property tax bill. Here's the thing. How can you prepay a bill that doesn't exist? No one, not even the property appraisers know what your property tax bill will be. And no one will know with any degree of certainty until September of next year when proposed property tax statements are actually produced. But that's Florida's fault and you're sorry for it? Come again?

WTF? Now we have articles being written in mainstream media outlets that call for the crushing of the President and articulate ways for you to play your role in the crushing. This is beyond desperation and far beyond delusional. This is just plain destructive, sick and disturbing. And where's the chorus of righteous folks in the media and on the left calling for the repudiation of this type of rhetoric which might even provoke elements to act out dangerously? Need I remind anyone that just this summer a deranged anti-Trump lunatic went hunting for Republicans on a softball field? What's more is that the US economy is the best it's been in well over a decade and the average American just had their best year since 2000 with a $1,780 raise on the way starting Monday.

And btw, isn't rooting for the crushing of the President against the best interests of the country? Does that even matter anymore to these people? Here's what's happening. Donald Trump is following through on his promises and it's working. That terrifies his political enemies more than anything.

Excerpt: The most disturbing media trend in 2017 is the concerted — and largely successful — effort by President Trump and his White House to delegitimize the nation’s traditional news outlets through combatively dubbing them “fake news.”

Hot take: So, the most disturbing trend in media isn't the proven effort (CNN) to falsify news to attempt to takeout a sitting president. The most disturbing trend in media isn't the open rooting for the "crushing" of the president as cited above. The most disturbing trend in media is the President to pointing out that media that's making stuff up, is making stuff up? Here's a news flash that's not fake news for the fake news media. You'd already delegitized yourself before Trump called you fake news. Last year in Gallup's regular study on American trust of media - a record low 32% of Americans stated they trusted the media.

Have you considered that the reason why the President has been successful, as you point out, is because he's right? Might be time to look in the mirror...

Until tomorrow...
