Justice Department threatens West Palm Beach with subpoenas over immigration - Sun Sentinel
Excerpt: West Palm Beach was among 23 jurisdictions targeted Wednesday in a Justice Department letter demanding local officials prove they are cooperating with federal immigration agents.
The letter threatens subpoenas if city officials don’t turn over documents showing they aren’t withholding information about the immigration status of people in custody.
Mayor Jeri Muoio said it’s not the city’s job to enforce federal immigration laws. “We want people to know in West Palm Beach we are not going to be checking your immigration status,” she said.
Hot Take: You're right Jeri - it's not West Palm's job to enforce federal immigration laws but it is your obligation to comply with them. What this article conveniently leaves out is that the reason West Palm Beach was the only city to in Florida to receive one of these notices. Last year, the city took the extraordinary action (they called "Welcoming City") to pass an ordinance specifically citing that they wouldn't check on the legal status for those detained/booked and thus wouldn't be following through on their legal responsibilities to comply with federal laws. Not only should West Palm Beach be held accountable to the law given their expressed intent to potentially violate it - so should public officials. Should it be found that public officials are deliberately violating the law - they're obstructing justice. Those who obstruct justice are criminals and should be charged accordingly.

Excerpt: The latest "revelation" came when a couple of congressmen rushed to Fox News to tell of a reference they found in a text to a "secret society." Egads! They don't know what it means, but it certainly couldn't be tongue in cheek. Is the FBI controlled by the Illuminati? The Freemasons? The Rosicrucians? Some powerful secret society so secret and powerful that it has prevented us all from even knowing what it's called?
Hot Take: I don't know what's worse. Leftists being completely cool with illegal and corrupt behavior at the FBI (as long the politics of it seem to align with their views) or that they expect you to be dumb enough to believe that the entire anti-Trump deal was just a big joke that you didn't get. Ha, ha – isn't it funny! Never mind that the FBI found it credible enough to remove them from the Muller investigation and reassign them at the FBI but details, right? This is as rich as that whole made up IRS targeting of conservative groups. Remember that big conspiracy theory?! Oh, wait that was real too! The desperation by GSS media has reached a fever pitch. You know the house of cards is getting ready to be exposed because you might say that finally our eyes aren't wide shut any longer...
