Florida Republican Congressman Ron DeSantis is holding a campaign kickoff event today at the Embassy Suites in Boca Raton. DeSantis received an endorsement from President Trump before he jumped into the race for governor. In the tweet, Trump wrote that “Congressman Ron DeSantis is a brilliant young leader” who “would make a GREAT Governor of Florida.” DeSantis has indicated that the push from Trump was part of what encouraged him to run for the Republican nomination for governor. DeSantis has represented Florida’s 6th Congressional District since 2013.
