Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for January 31st

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for January 31st

Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...

Hot Take: And as it turns out it's not the Portuguese Man-O-War – it's a slug that eats them!

Hot Take: If by 50's era economy you mean awesome economic growth you're right! The average economic growth in the 1950's was 4.3%. That's exactly what President Trump is working to achieve. And yes, I know the left thinks that anything other than a liberal arts degree isn't respectable and they tend to look down their noses at the people who actually build everything they use but manufacturing just had its best year in over 30 years in the US and has been a top three job producer for three consecutive months. Oh, and now we have a new Jacksonville based solar plant that's been announced from a Chinese company as a result of the President's recently announced Chinese tariffs.

Manufacturing has been alive and well around the world, just not in the United States until last year. Isn't it ironic that we had the worst period of economic growth in US history with ideas like yours in practice only to reverse course and have the best economy in over 20 years? Oh wait, it's not ironic at all. It's one thing to be wrong and to be proven a failure. It's a whole other thing to be proven wrong, be proven a failure and then lecture the policies that are causing economic prosperity. It borders on pathological behavior.

Excerpt: President Trump’s immigration plan to give 1.8 million illegal aliens in exchange for wall funding and the elimination of chain migration is a “white supremacist ransom note.”

Hot Take: That was one of many examples of how low-brow the left and many in the media will go to attempt to achieve their objectives. Can't win in the arena of ideas? Go for the lowest common denometor and attempt to cut off intelligent, thoughtful debate. Bigotry is alive and unfortunately well. Most often I find it with those leveling the charges against others. Immigrants, both legal and illegal for that matter come to the United States for a better life. The better life is a byproduct of being a generally free society with laws that protect it. The irony is that without the laws that protect it - what makes it great will eventually cease to exist. There's nothing racist about the laws of the United States of America. If you don't like them you're welcome to go elsewhere but good luck because over 80% of the world's population isn't free - which despite the bigotry, is the reason you're still here citing nonsense to those of us who are law abiding and believe in this country.

Until Tomorrow...
