LANTANA, Fla. (CBS12) — Multiple people are dead, and a suspect has been shot by deputies on I-95 in Lantana, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff's office.
As of 11 a.m., deputies are advising that I-95 northbound will be closed from Lantana Road to 6th Avenue for the rest of the day while they investigate.
According to PBSO, it started when a man shot a woman in the head in Lake Worth, then took her in a car and fled the scene.
PBSO says deputies chased the man, and stopped his car on Hypoluxo near Lantana. When the car was stopped it caught on fire, according to CBS12 reporter Thomas Forester.
Deputies shot at the man when he got out of the vehicle. PBSO says the woman is dead.
