Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 8th

Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for February 8th

Bottom Line: These are the daily doses of nonsense in the media and my hot takes on them...

Excerpt (in addressing the cities declaration of being a "Welcoming City" last March following Seattle's lead): “The rationale behind these policies is that if immigrants do not fear adverse consequences to themselves or to their families from interacting with city officers, they are more likely to report crimes, apply for public benefits to which they are entitled, enroll their children in West Palm Beach’s public schools, request health services like vaccines, and — all in all — contribute more fully to the city’s health and prosperity,” the lawsuit states.

Hot Take: The rationale. The rationale? I don't mean to rock anyone's world for a minute, but legal immigrants wouldn't have any reason to need to fear adverse consequences would they? So, we're talking about illegal immigrants. So, are illegal immigrates illegal? And what type of crime have they committed? Federal right? Ok, so first there's not a city in this country that has any jurisdiction to undermine our federal immigration laws and policy. Secondly, let me rephrase for an attorney on behalf of the city of West Palm Beach...

“The rationale behind these policies is that if federal criminals do not fear adverse consequences to themselves or to their families from interacting with city officers, they are more likely to report crimes, apply for public benefits to which they are entitled, enroll their children in West Palm Beach’s public schools, request health services like vaccines, and — all in all — contribute more fully to the city’s health and prosperity,”

And here's my question... If you're an officer of the court, at what point if you're an advocate of federal criminal behavior, should that become an issue for practicing law in this country?

Hot take: Ok, I'll take the bait. I don't trust Devin Nunes. So, where's the explanation to repudiate the thirty statements of fact in the memo? Oh wait, there wasn't any of that in story. Just character assassination. If Devin Nunes can't be trusted than the memo should easily be dismissed point by point. I wonder why it's been six days and the best leftists can do is say that Nunes is a bad guy?

Hot Take: You mean there is some?

Until tomorrow...
